Sheriff Hutton

The Sports Pitches, York Road, Sheriff Hutton, YO60 6QP

Directions: Take the York Road out of Strensall (opposite Tesco Express) and follow the road for approximately 3 miles.  Just as you enter the village of Sheriff Hutton you will see the pitches on the right hand side of the road.

Please note the following parking restriction: Do NOT use the tarmac car park in front of the village hall, plenty of parking spaces are available on the grassed area.

The Sheriff Hutton pitches are in the shadow of the Castle, which was originally built in 1382 by Lord John Nevill of Raby.  The fortress was eventually owned by Richard III in 1483 and his son is buried in the village church.  It was also used by the Council of the North until the 16th century.
